Ethnology museum is a popular place of attraction in Gujarat. The museum showcases culture and art of the local people of Kutch known as Kacchis. It is a storehouse of books of about 1500AD that mainly focuses on subjects like culture and art along with pictures of about 4500AD that depict rural lifestyle of the local residents of Kutch. The museum comprises of overall five sections and the most prominent among them is Sahitya Chitra that contains rare works of literature in Kutch and the other is Ethnology section. The remaining sections of the museum comprise of different artifacts like swords, knives, terracotta, bead work, stone and wood carvings and silver work. Visitors will also find a small sized hut which has been designed for keeping treasure. The museum also provides an insight into the occupation of the local people of Kutch through various specimen pieces of samples.

This remarkable museum was established by an eminent scholar Ramsinhji K Rathod for displaying the folk arts of the region. It comprises vast collections of wall paintings of terra cotta, carvings, wood work, leather work and embroidered art etc. All these precious assets have been preserved wonderfully and are subjects of detailed research by archaeologists and art lovers.
