Sidi Saiyyed

The mosque of Sidi Saiyyed is located in the city of Ahmedabad in Gujarat state. It is built on a magnificent creation of jalis which are symbols of Indo Saracenic construction. The Sidi Saiyyed holds significant value as a travel destination for its rich history and supreme architecture. The various jalis in the arches are great symbols. The various wall creations of stones and tile work are a must watch. The latticework is based on palm tree shapes and foliage. History

The Sidi Saiyyed mosque was built by Sidi Saiyyed in the year 1573. It has a central arch which is a solid walled stone as it could not be finished due to Mughal invasion. The Sidi Saiyyed is a historic tour site in Gujarat.
The mosque is grand in structure having a white body with various jalis in the form of window pain. The extraordinary latticework is a fine example of ancient creation which makes the mosque a must visit travel destination in Gujarat. It was established by Sidi Saiyyed who worked for Bilal Jhajar Khan, an army general in the Gujarat Sultanate Shams-ud-Din MuzaffarShah III. The mosque marked an epitome in the last year of reign for the Sultans of Gujarat. The place is all about the beautiful artistic work that completes the construction of the mosque.

Where is it located?

The city of Ahmedabad is very well accessed from the other cities and states in India. It is well connected by roadways with National Highways from Delhi and Mumbai. Superfast trains are also available to reach Ahmedabad from where private cars or buses can be taken to Lal Darwaza which corners the Sidi Saiyyed. Ahmedabad also has its own airport with both domestic and international flight facilities. The railway station is just 6 kilometers away from the landmark.
