The temple of Shri Ranchoddraiji is located in the old town of Dakor in the district of Kheda. Dakor falls under one of the earliest religious spots in the state of Gujarat, famous for the temple of Lord Shiva, Danknath temple. Over the years the followers of Lord Krishna made the place a pilgrimage location that receives lakhs of devotees every year.
The whole of the beautiful temple complex is a must watch with various pujas taking place. The main shrine has 8 domes along with the idol of Shri Ranchoddraiji in black stone. The music room inside the complex can also be a fascinating spot to enjoy the pious environment. Dakor, the place where the present temple has been established was known as Hidamba van during the times of Mahabharata. The entire place emerged as an attraction for sages and hermits with the popular ashram of Dank Rishi. Lord Shiva after getting pleased with his prayers agreed to stay there forever in form of a replica named Ban (ling) which is also known as Danknath Mahadev. Also known as Dankor, Dakor gets its name from Danknath Mahadev.
The present temple is a famous landmark in Gujarat worshipped by many since as old as the 1772 AD. The temple is estimated to have been built for only one lac rupees and houses some of the popular Hindu Gods and Goddesses. The temple area is very well organized with several pujas and other holy rituals that take place regularly. Ranchhodraiji is a holy form of Lord Vishnu from the sages with His four arms. The old small shrine where the Lord was worshipped is caste in a bigger area with all the modern facilities and features.
Where is it located?
The temple is located near Nadiad or Anand which are just 35 and 43 kilometers away respectively. By rail one can avail local stations of Anand and Nadiad that area connected to other cities of Gujarat. One can also get down at the Umreth station which is just 7 kilometers away but rail facilities here are very flaccid.The airports at both Vadodara and Ahmedabad are available to reach Dakor which is just 78 kilometers and 90 kilometers away.

The Ranchoddraiji Temple can be visited anytime as it receives a huge follower crowd ever year. Many pujas are performed everyday but a visit during Holi or during full moon nights can be very spiritual and religious. The whole of the temple area illuminates with holy chants and religious Havans.
