History

In the period between 1907 and 1915 Pratap Villas Palace was come into existence. The credit for establishing this palace goes to late Maharaja Ranjitsinhji and the palace was constructed following the pattern of European architectural style. For the objective of nature conservation Jam Singh during period of 1968 transformed the area of palace garden into a natural park. Jam Singh had introduced different animal species to mark the journey of this newly established national park. Visitors need to obtain the permission for entering into the park and palace from this royal family through applying in the Darbar Gadh office.

It is based in Jamnagar and is one of the places to visit in Gujarat. It will normally take 316 km to reach the spot from the nearest airport of Ahmedabad via NH 8A. From nearest rail station of Surat the distance is roughly about 531 km to visit this spot of tourist attraction in the country via NH8.
