The museum was established in the year of 2010 with sole objective of acquainting the less known cultural heritage of Patan before the outside world. The museum mainly showcases wide range of sculptures that were made of using marble and sandstone. In every section of this museum, visitors will have the chance of knowing something new in full details. It is quite hard to detect any flaw in these antique statutes which serve as the testimony to the peak period of ancient art and architecture. Some of these statutes do represent deities of Hindu religion and also to some extent the erstwhile ancient kings of Gujarat. For foreign tourists the admission fee is Rs 50 per person and for domestic visitor the admission fee is Rs 5 per person.

This landmark museum is situated in Veer Maya Marg of Ranki Vav Road in Patan. It is opened everyday and is closed during public holidays and on every Wednesday and second and forth Saturday.
