The Nargol Beach gets its name from an adjacent village and the topography of the entire region is simply breathtaking with casuarina trees swaying in the mild breeze blowing from the Arabian Sea. The Nargol coast largely remains unexplored as it is visited by very few tourists and hardly ever frequented by the locals. In fact, all other beaches or coasts in the vicinity see limited footfalls largely because facilities for water sports or other forms of entertainment hardly exist.
Hence, these coasts, including Nargol seacoast offer the perfect ambience for relaxing and unwinding in peace. The Nargol beach stretches for several kilometers and experiences high tidal waves all through the year.
Being a rare unexplored territory the beauty lies in the fact that it has remained secluded for centuries. It is probably among the very few undiscovered spots that comes in a very few tourist itineraries. The place is full of lush palm trees and the greenery around is a treat to the eyes. You can stroll across the beach and enjoy the peace and tranquility that seems to prevail across. The beach has large stretches of sands and is dotted by casuarinas trees. Feeling the noise and sight of soft gentle waves that crash around the shores offers a sense of paradisiacal for the travelers.
Nangol Beach till today remains a secluded beach and certainly among the less traveled places. The area is particularly a place of attraction for Zoroastrians, the precusors of Parsis, who arrived for the first time in India from Persia and settled down in Sanjan, another hamlet that lies on the eastern fringe of the Nangol village. The fire temple of Iranshah Atash Bahram established several centuries back, is amongst the oldest of Parsi Agiaries. More than 90% of the villagers in Nangol and the surrounding villages are Parsis.
Where is it Located?
The hamlet of Nagol that lie enroute to the beach falls under Valsad district and has a typical coastal countryside with palm trees all round. There are numerous farmhouses in the village owned by Parsis who are based in the large cities of Ahmedabad, Surat, Diu, Porbandar, Goa and Mumbai.
Ideal Visiting Time
The region has a tropical climate where there isn’t much difference between the maximum and minimum temperatures all through the year. However, it is best to visit Nargol during the winter months.
