Gujarat is primarily a coastal state with a long coastline extending to over 1,600km and also has a colorful as well as a chequered history. One can have a brush with the state’s glorious past by visiting its splendid temples, sprawling dargas, grand citadels and forts, large museums, and of course its spectacular beaches.
Mahuva Beach stretching along the outskirts of the township of Mahuva is frequented not only by locals but also by pilgrims and visitors from outside the state. The seacoast is also popularly referred to as the Bhavani Beach owing to the temple of Bhavani Mata that is located atop a dune in its sandy shores. The area surrounding the beach and the township is incredibly verdant and the countryside is dotted with coconut and palm trees offering the perfect ambience for relaxation to visitors.

The beach and the countryside are visited by almost 350 species of local and migratory birds. One can trek up to the Bhavani Mata Mandir located on the top a small hill further up the beach. Other temples that religious devouts can visit include the Bhuthnath Mahadev Temple, Gayatri Mata Shaktipeeth, and the Tatkaleshvar Mahadev Temple.
