Girmal Falls

The 100 feet high waterfalls, Girmal is situated 8 km away from Nishana. Nishana is a small place on Ahwa-Nawapur road which is near to Girmal Village. One of the beautiful travel locations in Gujarat, Girmal waterfall is a popular picnic spot. The highest waterfall in the state, Girmal has a foggy form all over the place as the water falls from a high peak. The place is immensely popular for its eye-catching natural beauty.

What to See?

It is located near Girmal and has more than 1400 types of vegetables, flora & fauna, some rare species of trees like Golden Bamboo, Chinese Bamboo, Beer Bottle Bamboo and such. The area is spread over 24 acres. Dang is a district where Girmal village is located. Dang darbar is an old place where a tribal festive takes place before Holi. The festival has music, dance, colours and lot more.
Inhabitants sell tribal apparels and travellers can also join them to have more fun. Located in between Gira and Purna River, this is a big forest area near Girmal Falls. The place has mountains all around which is definitely an eye-candy. It is one of the most beautiful travel spots in Gujarat where you can spend nights in picnic huts.
Saptarshringi Devi is said to be the sister of Maa Kali. Inhabitants and travellers keep coming to the place to worship the Devi every year. 50 km away from Saputara, the place is famous for the mountains that have 7 peaks. Gavdahad is a forest near Nishana. The view point shows the entire Purna Sanctuary that was surrounded by Gira River. It was splendid experience to watch such heaven-like scene.
There are lodges, picnic huts and Camp sites are there where you can spend the nights and explore these places.

Where is it located?

In order to reach the Girmar village first then drive to the Girmal Falls. Girmar village is situated 343 km away from Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The nearest train station is Vapi. You can take private taxi form there. Speaking about the airport, nearest one is at Ahmedabad.

Ideal Visiting Time

As falls get dried up during the summer, the best time to visit the Girmal Falls is in between July to December. There are many viewpoints created by the forest department with which you can enjoy the beauty of the place.
