The Bhai MohakamJi Singhji Gurudwara is located in the pilgrim town of Dwarka. It is actually in the interiors of Dwarka known as Beyt Dwarka which is an island. It is at a distance of 30 kilometers from the main town that falls under the Jamnagar District of Gujarat.
One can see the Sri Guru Granth Sahib that is stored in the shrine. Also many images and teachings of the various Sikh Gurus are also at display. Shri Bhai Mohakam Singh Ji was a brave warrior who died on warfront serving his clan. One can offer prayers and relish the langar that is a must do service of every Sikh gurudwara.
The Sikh shrine was built in memory of Bhai Mohakam Singh who was affiliated a part of the Panj Pyare by Guru Gobind Singh.The gurudwara of Bhai Mohakam Singh Ji is very famous in the lesser known island region of Bet Dwarka. The heroics and religious deeds of Bhai Mohakam Singh Ji dates back to the year 1699 when he offered his head to Guru Gobind Singh under whom he served, to be a part of Khalsa. This earned him the title of being in the Panj Pyare which makes this place a sacredplace.
Where is it located?
The city of Dwarka can be reached from all the major cities of Gujarat by public buses and private cars. Jamnagar is the nearest big city which is 137 kilometers away from it. BeytDwarka can be reached by travelling 30 kilometers more. Okha is the nearest railway station and upon reaching one has to use motorboats to reach the BeytDwarka shrine.
Ideal Visiting Time
The Gurudwara of Bhai Mohakam Singh Ji can be best visited on Baisakhi to witness the grand size celebrations. Langars are also set every week to share the blessings of the God.
